Energy Manufacturing’s re-phasing cylinder system is two or more cylinders plumbed in series, with the bore and rod diameters sized such that all rods extend or retract equally when flow is applied to the first, or last, cylinder in the series. This hydraulic synchronization of rod positions eliminates the need for a separate flow divider or mechanical torque tube in the application. There’s also no need for any external circuitry, device, or plumbing to achieve re-synchronization.

Other advantages of an Energy re-phasing cylinder system include the potential for lower parasitic power loss, and the benefit of pressure intensification and the ability to transfer power between actuators. Both tie-rod and welded type hydraulic cylinders can be modified to take advantage of the benefits of re-phasing technology.
